somewhere in between

Hey blogworld, haven't been writing here for ages huh! :D

Lotsa happenings that I haven't written here yet...some are too good to be missed, so here I am, in front of my laptop when I'm supposed to be doing something else! *sigh*

First, as uni is officially over, I am officially on my own! That means I'll have to support myself...find a full time job...like asap. Money is running low!

Second, being in a LDR relationship SUCKS. It's boring like nothing else! The story was; bf had to go back to his kampung as his dad won't let him stay here in the kangaroo-land. So, fingers crossed, we look forward for his coming back to Melbie when money piles up high enough to climb up and slide down on.

Third, is global warming real? *being smacked on the face by treehuggers* It was raining ICE CUBES in Melbourne last weekend! It was a crazy hailstorm, and the city was flooding! Gosh! Who knew that Melbourne was worse than Jakarta? Haha the rain was only 2 hours and the flood was knee-high! Geez.

Fourth, I'm cooking more these weeks. Saving money and being healthier. I just hate how long it takes to prepare food :( *sob* O well, burn the calories before it even goes in! Ha - I wish.

Next *lost count*, my sista is coming here with her fam! Oh wow, this gonna be the first time any family member come n visit me! And this is like, what, my fourth year in Australia =.= Oh and I'm going to Gold Coast next week! Sad tho, I won't have a chance to visit wet n wild xD it's my fav park there!

So that's what you should know! Oh and on a random note, when you come down to Chinatown, watch out for hairs. Not that I found any on my food yet, but last time I ate in my fave restaurant, I saw the longest armpit hair. Ever. Hands down. It looks like it can strangle a cat or suffocate you to death. Thank God I'm not having nightmares, lol. Resto-name not mentioned since I love this restaurant. Good food, friendly waiters, reasonably priced. Unlike that bastardos in Pacific BBQ. I hate that restaurant with all my heart.

out of my amazement

First of all, dreadful internet connection!!

Argh I should've bought the unlimited one if that's really faster. I'm using IM2 now and there's been lotsa down time! Not fun.

Anyway, remember I mentioned about renewing my IDs? Well apparently the extra Rp 10K my Dad gave didn't pay off, I haven't received my new national id yet. Oh well, there's always Monday for these kinda things.

But! It still amazes me how easy it was to renew everything here. Or even MAKE anything here. I remember the time when I came to the police station for the first time to get a driving license. I was told that all I needed to to was to come and take photo, so imagine me freaking out when one of the police asked me to come in a room with a overhead projector and some guys and maybe few girls sitting around holding pens. OMG I have to take a test? I tot that time. To my relief, the police handed me a test paper that had already filled in with correct answers. Well maybe someone crossed one or two wrong ones, but still. Don't you just love how corrupt our country is? Sarcasm alert. Next, photo, finger print, and I got my brand new-shiny driving license. Tah Daah!!

Renewing was almost the same, except that I didn't have to sit and 'take the test'. I came, a guy told me to wait in a room, someone called my name to take a pic. Inside, a tense looking police asked me my name. All I cared about was how thick his eyebrows were.

Bapak beralis tebel (BBT): "Jalan Sunan Kudus 46/60 itu yang mana?"

Well, I didn't know why my Dad started to write our address this way. Number 46 is actually his shop, on the other block of the street. Number 60, is my house. I mean, how far is it from 46 to 60! People must've wondered.

Me: "Oh, ehh...Yang di pojok jalan...sunan kudus sama emm apa ya? Yang di pojok itu lho pak.." omg udah lupa nama jalan di kudus!

BBT: "..."

Uh-oh, not convincing enough.

Me: "Emm, yang ada Suzuki Motor?" dagdigdug

BBT: "Ooh..." *sotoy*

Ah biar deh, me not gonna see you again, bapak...Take care and live your life to the fullest! It doesn't matter where Jl Sunan Kudus 46/60 is!

Anyway. I got my new driving license and took off immediately! Outside, my Dad gave some amount of money to the guy who helped me. Bukan sogokan, cuma uang makan kok. Bukan uang rokok, ntar dituduh bunuh anak orang.

Till later, people!

Tubby-brownie

Hey ho!

If any of you wonder what I've been doing lately, I have to say it's still a mystery.
Honestly, I can't really remember what I've been doing :p
Things go like they always do: uni, work, oikos, and church.
Small things in between includes dinner out, lunch out, or baking.

I baked what's supposed to be strawberry turnover, but it ended up soggy since I could't seal the edges perfectly. Should give it a try again next time, but now I had enough soggy pastry lol.
O well, if you haven't failed you haven't tried eh? Speaking of baking, however, I baked a brownie tart last weel, which turned out awesomely. Not perfect, but I love the texture. Yum. Somehow it tastes a bit salty tho. I'm really sure I used unsalted butter and correct amount of salt…Humm maybe I should just reduce the salt next time!

a snapshot of the brownie, decorated for picture purpose only :p

Geez my blog's been boring for the past I-don't-know-how-long :( And I don't feel like writing anything interesting…Hahaha...
I just don't have anything to write about. Life's been good…I'm waiting for my holiday to come, so sick of coming to classes and doing my assignments. Just gimme a break already.

Oh one random thing! I've realised it for quite a while now, but then I never write it anywhere to remember it. Not that important, but interesting for me:
I learn and do bits of everything. By that I mean: photography; design; singing; basketball; baking; video editing; nail care *if that counts*; japanese; felt doll-making… and some more random stuff that I might missed. Well it's good in a way, but at the same time a bit ironical..hhahahhaah… I like stuff too easily. I see it, I want to do it, then I do it, then I stop most things and continue few things :p Hehe. I hope I keep learning how to bake tho, since I've already invested on some tools..gee.

Anyway, now I remember 2 interesting sightings that I wanna share!
1. When I was walking home, I saw an orange girl.
And that's so funnily lame. I mean, come on! She's orange! ORAAANGE!!! You know fake tan is just too much, but this…is just overwhelming. Reminds me of Bride Wars, yay.

2. I saw teletubbies today.
Errr, there were 2 Asians handing pamphlets in front of Melbourne Central, wearing what I see as cheap-made tubbies costume. I saw the purple one first *tinky winky?*. The head mask didn't cover his face, so I can clearly see his grumpy face. Dude, can't you at least smile? Who would take the pamphlets from a frowning fat purple alien? I hate teletubbies, let alone the pissed of ones. Walking down Swanston, I saw the second tubby, this time the red one or Po if I remember correctly…Inside it was a girl, thank God she at least smiled. She didn't put on the head mask tho. I can see no point she's wearing that oversized alien costume. Hmm. Marketing just got worse..haha…

And that's all I can remember for now! :)
Stay tuned

tante misterius

Someone's been haunting me for the past few weeks of my peaceful (read:boring) holiday. Who can it beee??

*deng deeeng*

I remember my convo with one of my best friend, nopha;
Me: I see her EVERYWHERE
Nopha: *LOL* ha, maybe dia berjodoh ma loe!
Me: JODOH? AMIT-AMIT laaah!

Kata keramat itu jadi terngiang-ngiang: jodohjodohjodohjodoh
Tobat lah jodoh sama tante itu...

So, who is this tante geje??

The story begins few years back, when I was still in high school. Me and some of my friends used to help the church's kantin -> actually, it's not much of a kantin, cuma ada 1 display dijejali berbagai makanan ringan dan berat dan recehan kalo ada orang ngamen. Yang terakhir bohong ding, orang ngamen kalo masuk pasti dah disetrum dulu sampe gosong sama security. Tapi itu juga bohong. Halah.

Nah ternyata, as young and fabulous teenagers, tante-tante pengurus komisi wanita rupanya ga 100% percaya sama kitekite. Hal ini was proven dengan ditempatkannya seorang anjing galak...I mean tante-tante buat mengawasi kita. Bahasa kerennya supervisor gituloh.

But! This tante was an evil godmother *loh?*. She was the most annoying tante ever lived in my kampung halaman!! No kidding! Her face is full of wrinkles, and she has a permanent frown on her face, and her hair was dyed with some oogly colour. I believe she's younger than she looks. Anyway, she always have the pissed off look that can kill any coro. She's annoying, totally. She's supposed to help, but she's to sotoy to trust anyone, she's too hyper and to pissed and too random and and and...beyond words.

ONE PEACEFUL SUNDAY, we were helping there. My friends, my beloved friends, I believe all of you do aware that accidents happen anywhere everywhere, RIGHT?? RIIIGHT?? So that day, a plastik of bakso kuah just popped accidentally *can't remember how nor who did that*. Then all I could remember was...TANTE GEJE TO THE RESCUE!!! *pamparapaaam*

She grabbed the bakso, poured the leftover of the kuah to a new plastic bag, and dashed to the restroom. WHY RESTROOM?? GOD, WHY??? Ehm. Anyway, she appeared with a grin *but the permanent frown is permanent*, a winning grin as if she just did something worth nobel prize-winning. Later on, she told us.

Pesan moral: budayakan makanan instan, aman terpercaya. jangan terima bila kemasan rusak.

When I graduated, I tot I won't meet this tante geje ever again. Apparently, I was wrong. Since the day I went back from Melbourne for my summer hol, I've seen her for lotsa time already.

Sighting #1
I was out for lunch with my dad di rumah makan in a street known as gang 1. Tante geje was spotted, helping out there. I felt nauseatic somehow. Could it be...

Sighting #2
Every weekend, my dad will visit my grandma. My grandma has a jewelry store that is now run by my aunt. TANTE GEJE WAS HELPING THERE. With her permanent frown and cold stare. I feel so unsafe.

Sighting #3
I forgot where I went to, but when I got home, I saw tante geje buying nasi tahu beside my house. *shivers*

Sighting #4
I was in my car, going home after dinner. Tante geje was walking on the side walk, going somewhere only heaven knos.

Sighting #5
It's not a sighting anymore, it's an encounter!!!
So, I was eating at the same place where sighting #1 happened. As I expected, tante geje was there, helping. While I was eating, she washed her hand twice in 3 minutes, while staring at my table (or maybe me, or my dad!). Then she asked my dad about my aunt's housekeeper and yaddayadayadda. When my dad was paying the bill, she suddenly asked for a ride to "blahblahblah" (her language and accent was too advanced to be understood). I was shivering. My dad tried to refuse, but this tante was too ngilfilin. After tense minutes passed, she got in the car without anyone's permission =.= Hmm. Hmmmmm. Anyway. That was so random. She was in the car for about 5 minutes only, because apparently we're not going to the same direction. She was so impatient!

Tante geje: Yaudah turunin di onde-onde aja
Dad: yo *pasrah*
Tante: EH DI SITU DISITU TURUN SINI SINI SINI
Sopir: iya bentar, ga bisa
Tante geje: YA YA TAK TURUN SINI AE TURUN TURUN
Dad: omongmu, aku ditangkep polisi nanti *mobil udah jalan ke pinggiran siap buat ngelempar tante2 itu kluar*
Tante geje: Halah ditangkep polisi opo, orak ono! yo wes tak turun sini.
My dad, me, sopir: ...

Finally peace returns to my car...Omg omg omg.
Meh. What a random tante.
Oh she dyed her hair black now.
I think white suits you better, tante.

this week...hmm

Top random thing happened in this month: Richo!

So who in the world is this 'Richo' guy? A-ha. Bet you don't know.
I didn't wanna know, actually. But random thing happens in my life! Soo, yeah.

Sunny Friday, perfect weather for everything! After lect, I felt the urge to...swim in my apartment's swimming pool. The pool is uber cozy, it's indoor and very warm. Niiice. My day was perfect, until few laps later. A guy came in, and from my observation, he was going to swim (d'oh, what else would he wanted to do?). Uh-oh. The pool wasn't all mine anymore. Nooooh.
But o well. I learned about sharing with others, so this is the time to practice it. Awrity, I kept on swimming back and forth. Even though I didn't enjoy myself as much as before.
Few laps laatta. He started talking to me.

that guy: Hello.
me: uh. hi (whaddya waaant??? aaaaa!!!)
that guy: I've never seen you here before.
me: ha ha. yeah me either
that guy: do you come here often?
me: nope. you?
that guy: no, this is like my 5th time here.

blahblahblahblah

that guy: are you free tonight?
me: (AAAAGH this is BAD, BAD BAAAD) no, I'm gonna have BBQ tonite.
that guy: BBQ? where?
me: Verve. With myFRIENDS (the emphasize is, you're not my friend)
that guy: oh...how about tommorow?
me: hmm. going to play basketball tomorrow.
that guy: wow, basketball? where?
me: south kensington.
that guy: oh. how about sunday?
me: umm not sure. but I go to church in the morning
that guy: yeah, how about at night, are you free?
me: not really, coz I go to work on Monday. *STOOPP!!!*

NOTE: that guy was shivering
NOTE #2: remember that I said that the pool was very warm? whats wrong with this guy? =.=

Me continued swimming, trying to find a way to get out of that awkward situation.

But then he started talking again. And moved closer. Eww.

that guy (I haven't know his name yet, LOL): can I ask you a question?
me: huh?
that guy: do you have a boyfriend?
me: um. nah. but I have someone close.
that guy: what?
me: I have someone close (, dumb dumb).
that guy: oh. *moves away a bit*
me: *haha*

Swim swim swim.

that guy: you look really good.
me: ...thanks. (I believe that he is short sighted. Why? Because he looks like a person who wears glasses without his glasses on. You know how he looks.)
that guy: whats your name?
me: nysia. whats yours? (No. I don't really wanna know)
that guy: Richo
me: ow.

Gaahh enough of this crap. I left the swimming pool, so did he. Geez. Can't leave me alone can you?
He told me that he live on level 8, but when we got inside the lift, I noticed he didn't press number 8 until we're reaching my floor, the 9th.

me: hey you didn't press the button.
Richo: oh yeah
*getting of the lift*
*he pressed down button*
Richo: hey, can I get your number?
me: umm. Do you have your phone?
Richo: no
me: so how?
Richo: I can remember
me: (really? I really hope you'll forget) oowkay. sure?
Richo: yep2
me: (thinking of some lie) 0-4-0-2-3-2-8-6-8-8
*hint: I changed 1 number. muahahaha*
Richo: *repeated the number to himself* thanks. Can I take you out if you're free?
me: ... just gimme a call.
Richo: ok! *waves as I walked away quickly*

HAHAHAh
Now I better pray so I won't meet him again.

Lesson learned: Don't swim in Southbank Towers' swimming pool on Fridays. Richo has day-off on that day, so he may be lurking there. Beware!
